New Downtown Businesses April 2019

Downtown Longmont adds even more options to eat, drink and play!

For those of you who may have been in Longmont 30, 20, or even 15 years ago, you may remember a scarcity of  eating and drinking options in Longmont:  chain restaurant . . . or Boulder?

Fast forward, and welcome to 2019!  Adding to the multitude of nationally-recognized craft food and beverage establishments, Downtown recently welcomed two new vibrant businesses to the 400 West block of Main Street with two more in the works nearby.

La Vita Bella is more than a coffee shop!  While stocked with all of the regular coffee options, the atmosphere in La Vita Bella is inviting, welcoming and community focused.  Sink into a unique hand painted chair for a meeting or for the afternoon.  Outlets are abundant, encouraging your stay - maybe even transitioning from coffee time to happy hour time to a live performance.  La Vita Bella offers community space for film fests, puppet shows, live concerts and so much more.  Upstairs is the Experience CoWorking space, complete with yoga room, conference space, and full fridge!  La Vita Bella and its quirky and comfortable decor contributes to the vibrancy of downtown while promoting a culture of healthy community and is not to be missed!  Please remember to enjoy a beverage or a nibble while you enjoy the community offerings so that this great place will survive and thrive!

And right next door in La Vita Bella’s old stomping grounds is Quarters Bar+Arcade, a vibrant community in itself with a much different, but equally unique environment compared to its neighbor!  Beeps, pings, whistles and toots welcome game players of all ages (most times) to this intimate environment to test your skills, reminisce (many of the games are original from the 70s, 80s and 90s) or just sample one of the 20 beers, three ciders and two wines available on tap.  But don’t expect a beertender to assist - this is a place where you pour as much (or little) as you want and pay by the ounce!  Luke and Emily Kunselman started with an idea, the Small Business Development Center’s Leading Edge course, and a passion for Longmont, games, and beer. After much buzz and anticipation throughout the community, they were able to open Quarters in February.  Quarters is the perfect destination for a family fun night, a quick stop before or after dinner, or the game enthusiast who wants to use that pocket change on the dresser (yes, games do accept quarters!) while enjoying a great drink.  Where else in town can you venture in with as little as a quarter and still have some fun? And you’ll most likely be back for more soon!

Two other new additions to the downtown landscape will be opening soon.  Also on the 400 West block of Main St. will be Smokin’ Bowls, a fast casual “bowl” restaurant which will feature fresh and local ingredients in recipes with inspiration from around the world.  Look for Smokin’ Bowls to open in late April. And just a block to the south on the 300 West block of Main St. (in the old Sun Rose Café location) will be the long-awaited Tangerine, which will feature breakfast, brunch and lunch with a healthy flare.  Tangerine is slated to open later this Spring.

Make sure to head downtown soon to check out all the new and unique offerings!
