Main Street Repavement

Work on Main Street Pavement Revs Up After Labor Day
Travelers should expect slower speeds and possible delays along Main Street from 1st Avenue to 3rd Avenue.

Post Date: 09/03/2015 3:48 pm

Higher impact Main Street Pavement Reconstruction activities are on schedule to start on Tuesday, September 8. The initial area of focus will be along the east side of Main Street from 1st Avenue to 3rd Avenue. While work occurs along the east side of Main Street, all vehicular traffic will be shifted to the west side. The largest impact will be a reduction of two through travel lanes in each direction to one travel lane in each direction. This traffic configuration will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week until work on this first phase is done.

Because this is a total pavement reconstruction effort, we must shift and condense traffic to complete the work necessary on the existing roadway. This first phase is anticipated to last about three weeks. Construction will continue in phases to reconstruct pavement on Main Street from 3rd Avenue to Ken Pratt Boulevard. Phasing will also be coordinated in complement to the Main Street Bridge Replacement project starting this fall.

Construction on the pavement project began in August 2015 and is anticipated to be complete by June 2016. There will be a mandatory construction shut down from mid-December to mid-February.
