Q & A with Liz Giles, LMT, Owner

Q: Why you decide to open in Downtown Longmont?

A: Sixteen years ago in a search for our first home we landed in Longmont. The friendly community and small town vibe really fit the bill. At first I commuted to Boulder for work, then Louisville and finally Lafayette, each time I move my office I was keeping my eye on Longmont office space. As soon as the time presented itself I jumped at the chance to relocate my business to my home town. I’m excited to be of service to the community I love and live in and exactly where I wanted to be, right on historical Main Street. I love the connections I have made and the community that I am apart of. The history, the architecture, bike trails and green spaces, the arts and laid back culture makes Longmont my favorite small town to live and work in.

Q: How can your customers make Health In Essence their own favorite place, and how can they take ownership of supporting you during this time?

A: Use my knowledge to make your life a healthy journey with someone who wants to see you thrive! I have skills to support you in body, mind and spirit. I’ve been a Massage Therapist for over 3 decades but before that I was a Graphic Artist with a certificate from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh in Visual Arts. I have always been involved in making art and creative endeavors since childhood. As a kid I also fell in love with gardening and the use of plants for health. My Grandmother was my teacher and her gardens were epic. Now In addition to being a LMT, I’m also a Certified Clinical Herbalist, Aromatherapist, Nutritionist and Angel Reiki Master . . . and artist. I’ve created a welcoming space where I offer all the things I’m passionate about, helping people become the healthier version of themselves as well as art pieces for sale. I would love, during this time of safety restrictions, for folks to utilize my education to help them explore what they can do to become the healthiest version of themselves.

During the Safer at Home guidance, we'll be featuring a different Downtown Longmont business each day. These small businesses are the heartbeat of our community and are a big reason why this is such a great place to live, work, and play. This is a difficult time for everyone, and small businesses and their owners and employees are no exception.

There are many ways you can support our local small businesses during this time, from liking, following, and sharing their content on social media, to making online or over-the-phone purchases of products or gift cards. You can also donate to the Strongmont Fund, created to support local Longmont businesses negatively affected by COVID-19.
