This hour-and-a-half Yin and Yang-themed class will guide us in achieving harmonizing balance. Our world can force us to extend ourselves beyond healthy limits, whether in our careers, school studies, family obligations, or other areas of our lives. With such a strong emphasis on productivity and achieving, we often move fast without existing in the current moment. Our lives can become engulfed in frenetic Yang energy. To find balance and sustain ourselves, it is important to foster our relationship with regulating Yin energies. This unique class will guide us in honoring Yang forces as well as embracing the healing power of Yin.
The first 45 minutes of this class will start with an energizing, upbeat, and playful vinyasa flow. We will focus on hamstring stretching, quad strengthening, hip opening and balancing poses. This fiery Yang portion of class will carefully build heat simultaneously quelled with lunar pauses, allowing us to effectively pace our energetic buildup.
Our invigorating opening flow will be followed with rewarding and restful bliss! After expelling built-up Yang energies, students will be gently guided into peaceful Yin and Restorative poses. This second half, characterized by a slow pace, patience, and relaxation, will guide us in activating our parasympathetic nervous systems and as we wind down and stimulate myofascial fluidity. This intentional sequence will help us to bring harmonizing balance to our minds and bodies. You won't want to miss this uniquely consolidated class!
Note: This special offering will be part of a scholarship fundraising initiative to help give the gift of yoga to individuals and families who cannot afford yoga. For some, the ability to afford and integrate yoga into their lives feels more like a dream than a reality. We feel that yoga should be accessible to all, regardless of varying financial difficulties. Recipients of this scholarship program will receive Monthly Memberships, Retreats, or Yoga Teacher Trainings. By working to include more individuals from our greater Longmont community, we will help our yoga community to grow even stronger.
