Details
Join in a community conversation around race, facilitated by Annie Caplan of Living Room Conversations. The Living Room Conversation concept has been used across the country to foster meaningful dialogue around difficult or divisive issues.
In small groups of four to six people, participants agree to the conversational guidelines to keep the environment positive and productive. Question guides help foster discussion and prompt participants to explore their personal experiences around the given topic. The "Talking about Race" series will feature three-in-depth sessions around different themes. These sessions work best when taken together, but you can drop in to anyone of them.
Topics:
- Sept 14 Empathy: This conversation is about sharing experiences giving, receiving and observing empathy.
- Oct. 12 Status and Privilege: From education to wealth to gender to race, let’s talk about what we have…and what we desire.
- Nov. 9 Race and Ethnicity: This conversation is an opportunity to explore our experience of race and ethnicity. Where are we and what do we aspire to for ourselves and our community?
