Elaine Waterman, Executive Director of the Firehouse, will be leading printmaking demos at Summer on the Streets for AAPI Month & May's Second Saturday Creative Crawl from 4-8pm (with a 30 min break from 5:45-6:15pm) while supplies last.

Elaine is Filipino, and will be printmaking the Sun represented on the Philippine flag. The sun has 8 primary rays, each representing a province in the Philippines. The design includes three 5 pointed starts, each of which represents on of the country's main island groups, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao (which actually create the name of Elaine's mom- Luzviminda).

What is the Second Saturday Creative Crawl? Well, I’m glad you asked. Every Second Saturday, businesses around Downtown Longmont host events and creatives to celebrate Longmont’s creative community. All Longmont creatives are invited to participate (you don’t have to live or work in the “creative district” to participate).
