Mystical Creatures in Clay

Make a creature! Fairies, trolls, goblins, witches, elves, mermaids, and gnomes... fashion your very own fae folk in ceramic. Open to all skill levels 12&up. We will use handbuilding techniques to create a Fairy Tale Friend, then return in two weeks to paint and finish it. Students can learn basic handbuilding skills or expand on what they already know.

$45 for the 2 session class- supplies and firing included

Ages- This is a class for adults and mature children. Ages 12+ can attend (Homeschool students welcome)

Meet your instructor- Joyanna Rose Gittings
Joyanna Rose Gittings is a painter, teacher, and arts activist in the city of Longmont, Colorado. She grew up in rural Ohio, studied language and culture in la Laguna, Tenerife, Spain, and holds a BFA in Theatrical Design and Production from the University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music.She comes from a family of creators, and has raised a family of more creators; her four children each have their own artistic interests.
In both her work as a painter and a linguist, she is interested in the similarities we humans share, regardless of our apparent differences. She plays with storytelling, color abstraction, and fantasy, crossing techniques learned from watercolor, scenic lighting, automotive pinstriping and scrollwork, and sculpture.
Her studio is regularly open to the public while she works.
