Are you interested in supporting local films and filmmakers? Are you concerned about climate change and want to learn more about local actions?

Please join us at Longmont Public Media (457 4th Ave, Longmont, CO 80501) on Feb 11th at 7 pm for a fundraiser and sneak peek screening of an extended scene from Fracking the System: Colorado’s Oil and Gas Wars.

Fracking the Systems is a powerful exposé from the front lines of environmental activism in Colorado over the last decade. The film's mission states, “the system that is causing climate catastrophe is winning through a slow march of bureaucracy and exploiting marginalized people. When government fails us, the power of media and storytelling is our last hope to protect the people and the planet. This is a rallying cry for the next wave of activism.” This film is almost complete but needs your support to finish the final stages of production. This event is an opportunity to engage with a locally relevant film in production, talk with the director and the subjects of the film, and support local media that matters. As the director, Brian Hedden, highlights, “The media and messages we consume, the stories we are telling and hearing, matter now more than ever.” He asks, “what stories are going to nurture us and our future generations?”
