The Filmmakers meetup is a free, volunteer based effort to connect filmmakers, and those involved in the film media. Whether you need help honing your vision, finding resources, bringing out the best in your team, or just a pep talk, we hope you can find it here. We are building a community of working cinematographers, editors, writers, actors, costume designers, and directors
The purpose of these meetups is peer support and collaboration through brainstorming, constructive critique, and incubating new ideas. Attendees are encouraged to bring whatever they are working on to share for constructive criticism. As the event grows, options to bring in presenters will also grow. Our plans are to bring back First Friday Films at the Firehouse, featuring a filmmakers from the meetup every month and sharing their work with the community.
Come and connect with other filmmakers and storytellers in a casual environment. Whether you’re currently working on a project or are just curious about taking that first step in your career, take advantage of this invaluable opportunity to learn and network with other filmmakers! Maybe we'll talk about screenwriting, pre-production experiences, shooting and blocking scenes, working with actors, creative decisions made in order to tell a story, or location scouting- who knows!
