Have you ever wondered how a filament 3D printer works? Join our tech and computer gurus at the Library for Filament February, a two-class series that will dive into the world of filament 3D printing. The first session, happening on Tuesday, Feb. 11, will cover everything you need to know about filament printers—what they are, how they work, and how to use them. Get all your questions answered and learn the ins and outs of this versatile technology. The second session, on Tuesday, Feb. 25, will provide hands-on experience with an example printer supplied by SVVSD’s Innovation Center. You’ll have the opportunity to try out a filament printer for yourself, bringing your newfound knowledge to life with real-world practice.

Filament 3D printers can create a wide range of items, including:

... Prototypes for engineering or design projects
... Custom parts like brackets, gears, or housings
... Artistic pieces such as sculptures or decorative objects
... Functional tools like wrenches or phone stands
... Toys and models including figurines or scale models
... Personalized items like keychains or nameplates

Whether you’re interested in creating functional tools or exploring your creative side, filament 3D printing offers endless possibilities for both practical and artistic projects.

Computer classes are always free at the Library. We meet on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays upstairs in the computer lab. Each session explores a different topic. No registration necessary. Browse classes, services and our computer lab policies at bit.ly/LibComputing. Drop-ins are welcome.
