Entomology Match the Hatch
This Class will teach anglers about aquatic bugs, their life cycles and other living things that make up a Trout’s diet. Students will learn how to identify what they are eating while fishing then be able to choose a fly from their fly box match.
This class will help students overcome one of the most intimidating and difficult aspects to the daily fly fishing puzzle. Fly fishing Entomology teaches students the aquatic insects, their life cycles and other living creatures that make up fishes diets. Students will learn techniques to approach new bodies of water and sections of the river with confidence using new learned techniques and knowledge to be able to go into their fly box and “match the hatch.” This class will also help students read the water and fly placement when casting.

Class Instructor: Chase Newlon
Chase has been fly fishing all his life and is a master at the sport. His love for the sport goes beyond the everyday fisherman though. Chase just graduated CSU with his Bachelor's Degree in Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology with a Concentration in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences. Not only does this guy know his fish he knows his bugs too!

Class Cost: $35 for Resident, $43.75 for Non-Resident
