Join us at the Longmont Museum as we unveil the Crisis to Camaraderie: The 2013 Flood Photo Exhibit and chat about the flood with Longmont Museum Director and Curator of History Erik Mason.

The flood of September 11-15, 2013 caused catastrophic damage to homes, businesses and infrastructure in Longmont and highlighted our communities vulnerability to extreme weather. The community’s collective response over the past decade has allowed Longmont to rebuild even stronger. To mark the 10-year anniversary of the flood, the museum is presenting an exhibition of photographs taken by community members of the 2013 flood, it’s aftermath and recovery.

This opening event will be followed by Motus Playback Improv Theater’s “Stories of the Flood”, at 7 pm, a free community talk and performance to remember this major event in Longmont’s history.

The photo exhibit will be open Sept. 14 – Fall 2024 in the Museum’s Kaiser C Classroom and will be free of charge.
