Small Business Weekend

With the focus on supporting local small businesses being more important than ever, the LDDA is promoting the entire weekend after Thanksgiving as Small Business Weekend. Visit Downtown all weekend for fun things to do and see with the family, and let our local businesses help you check off your holiday shopping list. 

Friday, November 27
With Black Friday looking quite different this year, what better day for a stroll Downtown with plenty of fun things to do:

  • Check out the lights and window murals throughout downtown.
  • The big tree at 6th and Main will be lit up for the first time this year.
  • Stumble upon roaming holiday characters.
  • View Ice carving demonstration and photo opportunity at St. Stephen’s Plaza.
  • Businesses will have their holiday decorations on full display (vote for your favorite and win!).
  • Be sure to grab your complimentary 2020 ornament with purchase from participating retailers while supplies last (and get some of that holiday shopping out of the way!)
  • Enter to win a Downtown Gift Card at participating businesses (look for the red box!).
  • And maybe get surprised with a random giveaway just for being Downtown! 
  • End your evening downtown by grabbing dinner to-go and take a break from cooking. 

Saturday, November 28
Small Business Saturday can be the most important day of the year for many of our businesses, so be sure to come Downtown and show your support for Local! 

  • View Ice carving demonstration and photo opportunity at St. Stephen’s Plaza.
  • Thank you to High Plains Bank for the great Shop Local bags!  Support Small and get one!
  • Shop Local and grab your complimentary 2020 ornament with purchase from participating retailers while supplies last (and get some of that holiday shopping out of the way!)
  • Enter to win a Downtown Gift Card at participating businesses (look for the red box!).
  • Stumble upon roaming holiday characters.
  • Listen to holiday music performed by the Longmont Symphony Orchestra, live in the 300 East Breezeway between 1-2:30. 
  • Check out the lights and window murals throughout downtown.
  • Businesses will have their holiday decorations on full display (vote for your favorite and win!).
  • And maybe get surprised with a random giveaway just for being Downtown! 
  • Grab lunch or dinner takeout from one of our delicious locally owned restaurants, or grab a bite and a drink in the sun with outdoor restaurant seating. 

Sunday, November 29
Artist Sunday is a day dedicated to encouraging consumers to shop with local artists and give something special, unique, hand-crafted, and meaningful this holiday season. The Longmont Creative District recognizes that local artists create culture and make a significant positive impact our local community, while adding expression and beauty to our lives. Artists from across the country are participating in Artists Sunday, representing a full range of art, hand-crafted items, and performances. The diversity of artisans allows consumers to ‘shop art’ this Artists Sunday and give something personal and meaningful this holiday season. Downtown Longmont and the Longmont Creative District will host:

  • Artist Sunday Pop-Ups and Markets Throughout the Creative District (12-4 p.m.):
    • Firehouse Art Center – Artist Member pop-up booths, 667 4th Ave.
    • Longmont Downtown Development Authority – Inspiration Gallery artist co-op, 320 Main St.
    • Outdoor Artist Pop-ups – local artist booths along the 400 Block of Main Street
    • Wibby Brewing – local artist pop-ups in Wibby’s biergarten, 209 Emery St. 
  • Each artist pop-up location will have exclusive pin-back buttons with the artists’ work on them, and they will be given away free with any art purchase or can be purchased individually for $1. Show your commemorative button for 25% off any drink at Java Stop, 301 Main St., between 12-4 p.m.

Monday, November 30
Even on Cyber Monday, it’s so important to think small and support local businesses. Many downtown small businesses have options to browse or shop on their website, or you can place orders over the phone for curbside pickup or delivery.
