Benefits & Incentive Programs: The Longmont Downtown Development Authority is proud to offer business and property owners several programs to support the maintenance and improvement of the historic buildings in our Downtown Longmont District.
Several development grants support improvements to properties in the Downtown District:
TIF - Façade Improvement Program (FIP): The Longmont Downtown Development Authority has implemented the Facade Improvement Program to help facilitate desired larger scale catalyst redevelopment projects in the downtown area through the use of tax increment investments. Applications will be evaluated by the DDA Board using an evaluation scoring system and funding of eligible improvements will be based on a project’s score. Funding is available to property and business owners through this program for eligible building façade and public improvements. The City of Longmont will provide staff assistance to the LDDA to administer the FIP.

Façade Renovation Grants: This grant program reimburses applicants for large-scale projects to renovate a building’s façade. Grant amounts are contingent on the scale of the project and available Development Incentive Program grant funds with a maximum award of no greater than 25% of the total facade cost of the project. Funds may be used for large-scale façade restoration/renovation projects that would require a significant change to the façade of the building.

Façade Mini-Grants: Designed for small-scale façade renovation programs, mini-grants offer 1:1 matching reimbursement funds with a maximum of $3,500 per request, contingent on funds available.

Community Development Block Grant Loan Program: The LDDA’s loan program assists property owners and tenants in making costly improvements and enhancements to building exteriors with funds that must be repaid, but which are available at favorable terms. The loan program covers façade improvements only. Five-year loans match property owner funds at a 1:1.5 level, with a maximum request of $15,000 per 25-foot façade.
