Celebrating Longmont – Then and Now & StART Walking – April 27 5 – 8 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Plaza.
Celebrating Longmont – Then and Now is a new program introduced by the Arts & Entertainment District and the Longmont Downtown Development Authority (LDDA). This program will focus on celebrating Longmont’s growth and development from its beginnings in 1871 through a series of events in the downtown district.
Please join us for the first Celebrating Longmont – Then & Now event on Friday, April 27. The event will take place at St. Stephen’s Plaza on the corner of 5th and Main.
5 p.m. StART walking downtown tour begins
5:15 - 5:30 p.m. History and Mystery Talk
5:30 - 6 p.m. Entertainment by Expressions Performers
6 - 6:15 p.m. Public Art talk in St. Stephens Plaza

- The St. Vrain Historical Society will hold an Open House in the historical church (1881) from 5 to 8 p.m.
- This event will also feature live entertainment by local talent in the Expressions performance group, a summary of Longmont’s Beginnings by Dori Spence, tour guide for Downtown’s History & Mystery Tours and a walking tour of downtown’s Art in Public Places by staff administrator Lauren Greenfield.
Art in Public Places introduces StArt walking and biking this year and invites you to meet at St. Stephen’s Plaza at 5 p.m. to participate in the first of a series of guided public art tours throughout the year (all of which will be offered on foot or bicycle). This particular StART tour will feature the art in the downtown district. Each StART walk or bike tour will incorporate both permanent and temporary artwork thought Longmont. The tour guides will provide information about the artwork and the miles walked or rolled! Reservations for this tour is suggested but not required. All tours are scheduled to be one hour long. So StART walking downtown, view and learn about public art around the downtown district. Strollers are welcome!
